More About Paarl SPCA

What We Do

Paarl SPCA is dedicated to serving both the community and its animals through essential welfare services. As a non-profit organisation, we depend on a stable income to continue our work. Our funding comes from generous donations, fundraising collection tins in local businesses, animal boarding fees, and the ongoing support of individuals and community groups who help raise funds to ensure we can continue protecting and caring for animals in need.

Education

We offer educational programmes at schools and community clinics to promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare. We also provide community service opportunities and practical workplace experience for high school learners.

Boarding Kennels

Our dog and cat boarding facilities offer a safe, comfortable and caring home away from home. Fully vaccinated pets enjoy attentive care, with dogs receiving daily walks and cats regular grooming, ensuring every guest feels happy, relaxed and well looked after.

Veterinary Services

Paarl SPCA helps make essential veterinary care more affordable for pet owners in need. We work with a dedicated veterinarian and local veterinary practices to provide sterilisation and selected services at reduced rates. To qualify, applicants must complete an Almoning Form and provide details of their household income and expenses.

Mobile Clinics

Our mobile clinics bring essential animal healthcare to underserved communities in Paarl, Gouda and Saron. We provide dipping, deworming, vaccinations and basic animal care, while also promoting responsible pet ownership through educational information and resources.

Lost & Stray Animals

Paarl SPCA responds to injured, abused and neglected animals and serves as the official pound for lost animals in the area. If you find a stray animal, please bring it to the SPCA if it is safe to do so. If you are unable to transport the animal, stay with it if possible and contact the SPCA or your local municipality for assistance.

Section 18A Tax Certificate

Donations to Paarl SPCA may qualify for a Section 18A Tax Certificate, allowing eligible donors to claim a tax deduction. Please contact us after making your donation to request your certificate.

Because Every Life Matters

Every animal that arrives at Paarl SPCA deserves safety, compassion and hope. Your support allows us to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals while responding to cruelty and neglect throughout our community.
